The Children Sing
March 2010
I recently spent a day playing for children in various Norristown Elementry Schools. It was so marvelous , I can still see the wonderous expressions ...each and every one.
Solitude
May ' 09
I've been spending some time working in a house surrounded on 3 sides by water about 3 hrs from my home. A beautiful setting and no one around. It's easy to focus on the woodworking but there are moments when the slapping of the water and the Blue Herons and the wind whirling through the tall pines bring me to a place of peace and wonderment about this wonderful life.
The Art Scene
Sept '08
The Art Scene is closing. This is a blow to quite a few to local musicians like myself. I, personally owe a huge debt of gratitude as they sold lots of my CD's and promoted my art in many ways.

Recording a new CD
July '07
I've been having a blast recording a new CD at Al Bien's Springfield Recording Studio. So far I've laid down 15 or so rythum tracks.
Rymond Clemens on Upright Bass is not just holding the bottom together. He's doing so much more! For most of my songs I play a distinct base part as part of my fingerpicking so Raymond is free to play "inside" and sometimes "out" of the folk music. A marvelous friend and such a combination of large talent and spirit.
Chris Gately is playing drums ....or should I say drum. Mostly snare with brushes and symbols as needed is exactly what is helping define my groove. No kick drum. It makes the phrase "less is more" mean what it does. Great ideas are coming from Chris and a pleasure to work with.
Al Bien is playing guitar as well and always finds just the right thing to play. I could search for a lifetime and never find the modest but powerfull support Al brings to my music. He doesn't lament about it he just proceeds......with steam.....beautiful !
My daughter Lauren and her friend Bea will be singing back up with their own vocal araingements that constantly bring me to tears.
Engineered by Greg Brady ....Here's a guy, a musician, who loves my music and is working harder than I to get it right.....great enthusiasm and musicianship.
This is the project I was always looking for but didn't know it. This CD will be Grand!

June 18 Father's day gift.
June '06
It ranks as one of the greatest father's day celebrations I have ever known. Kimberly travels from NY city to sing on the stage of the Steel City Coffee House as I accompany her singing songs from blues and jazz to folk and musical. Days later I am convinced many of her beautiful notes are still lodged in the rafters. Thanks to all who came out to hear.
Happy Father's Day!
Fall Fling 9/28/05
Oct '06 Just got back from the Philadelphia Folk Song Society's "Fall Fling". This was my first time. My head is spining from all the music I was exposed to. What moved me most was those chance meetings with musicians I had yet to meet. Invitations to sit in were frequent. And the music so beautiful!
Talk about a nurturing musical community. It doesn't get better than this!
A Songwriters Christmas 12/23/05
Jan '06
We all had a grand time this past Wednesday night. Steel City Coffee House sponsored " A Songwriters Christmas Benefit for Katrina Victims" featuring many of the local songwriters that frequent Eileen Tipping's songwriters circle every wednesday night. We all played a holiday song then two of our own. We heard from : Jake Michael, Paul and Sandy (with Mathew....I think), Carolyn Cott, BJ Sarkissian and Tamara Sheen, Jack Greenwald, Eileen Tipping, Paul Michael, and Chris Adams (me). Eileen threw out candy between sets, Jake had holiday pop quizs and David Broida helped with assuring the money we raised went right where it is needed. We raised over 300.00 in ticket sales to directly benefit Katrina rebuilding efforts.
At the last minute my old friend Jay Davidson showed up and played heavenly soprano sax on my new song "The Garden". I hadn't seen Jay in almost a year as he's been on tour with Steve Winwood.
Many good smiles were in the room , filled with good wished and holiday celebration for all the right reasons.
I love you all.
